Position: Graphic Design Intern (Summer)
Duration: Summer (Flexible Start/End)
Hours: Part Time, 10 hours/week (Hybrid Schedule)
Compensation: $20/hour
Job Description:
Super Smalls, a digital-first play-centric kid’s brand, is looking for a paid Graphic Design Intern to join our team this summer! As the Graphic Design Intern at Super Smalls, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our creative and marketing team in real-time design meetings and photoshoots. You will assist in creating digital assets for email newsletters, web, and social media, under the guidance of our full-time graphic designer. This internship is designed to offer hands-on experience in a fast-paced, creative environment, where you will be able to enhance your design skills and learn more about a career in graphic design.

Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the design team to develop and refine digital assets
- Participate in design meetings and brainstorm sessions
- Design assets for our website, social media platforms, and email newsletters
- Assist in product and model photoshoots
Requirements
- Strong understanding of design principles and an eye for detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines
- A diverse digital portfolio that demonstrates an understanding of the Adobe Creative Suite
- Interest in content creation, animation, or web design is a plus
- Must be based in NYC and able to commute to our SoHo office

Product Development Associate
The Product Development Associate plays a key role in the product development and production process, ensuring products are developed, produced, and delivered on time, while meeting brand standards for quality, cost, and compliance. This role serves as the main point of contact between internal teams and external vendors, managing timelines and ensuring seamless execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Communicate daily with vendors to ensure product execution from concept to final delivery
- Manage and track sample requests to meet deadlines, quality standards, and design aesthetics
- Maintain an organized sample library with clearly labeled development and production samples, swatches, and materials
- Review Pre-Production and Top of Production samples to ensure they match approved designs
- Collect and manage time and action information from vendors to ensure alignment with the product development calendar
- Collaborate with Design to ensure timely delivery of technical specifications and packaging artwork to vendors
- Assist in the costing process to achieve target IMU goals; identify and solve lead time and MOQ challenges
- Track development sample charges and mold fees
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate Purchase Orders, including gathering costing and product details for SKU setup
- Handle PO changes and adjustments based on sales orders or inventory needs
- Communicate potential delivery issues with cross-functional teams and provide solutions
- Manage communication with licensors and key partners to ensure product design approvals, deadlines, and guidelines are met
- Ensure all licensed and partnership products meet brand quality standards and align with the product development calendar
- Maintain and update Product Development and Production WIP charts
- Expedite marketing samples to ensure on-time delivery for photoshoots
- Monitor and follow up on product testing to ensure regulatory compliance, including collecting lab and QC reports
- Troubleshoot product quality and technical issues with vendors, providing solutions and resolving non-compliance or chargeback claims
- Assist with onboarding new vendors
- Perform any other duties as assigned in support of the company needs and operations
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 3 years of experience in product development, sourcing, and/or production
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and timelines simultaneously
- Possesses a problem-solving mindset to troubleshoot issues while demonstrating the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in licensing is a plus!

Compensation: $60,000 - $70,000
